Why can’t we just get along?

I like coffee and tea. Why do people have to get so up in arms and ask me to take a side? I won’t. Just because I drink tea does not mean I hate coffee. Just because I drink coffee does not mean that I hate tea. Wow, I just realized that this is exactly like how people deny bisexuality exists. Fuck, I wasn’t even trying to make that point.

Anyhow, Happy blasphemy day,

♥ Emily

  1. Make God choke down a barbed dildo! (This is the first I’ve heard of Blasphemy Day, so I thought I’d try my hand at it.)

If people get tense about a coffee/tea debate we are a lost cause as a species.

  2. This reminds me a lot of a debate commonly heard here in Chicago, concerning Cubs and White Sox. People get very up in arms if someone says they like both teams, because obviously that means they have no loyalty to either one. It’s kind of ridiculous, but it does amuse me.

  3. Yeah, people really do get tense about the coffee/tea debate, but I don’t think that means that we are a lost cause.

Nice, by the way, “barbed dildo”???!!! Who the fuck would make such a thing?

Blasphemy day is basically a protest against all the places that make blasphemy illegal. Even believers should reject blasphemy laws because every group, by its beliefs, is commiting blasphemy against another group. If someone is muslim they are commiting blasphemy in the eyes of christians because they deny the divinity of Jesus. Christians are blaspheming against islam because they deny that mohammed was a prophet. So Yeah, Blasphemy laws are bad.

  4. I’m not a sports fan, so I don’t really know that much about the Cubs and White Sox. Aren’t they in two different leagues? And if so, why would it matter if you like them both?

  5. They are in 2 different leagues, but one’s on the north side and one’s on the south side, and there’s a really strong rivalry for the “True Chicago Team.” They play each other a couple games a year, but they’re never really in competition for anything. It’s mostly just a loyalty thing.

  6. I like tea a lot, though I’m picky about it; but I can have coffee on rare occasions, but not the black coffee that coffee-drinkers seem to like. OK, seriously though, this is actually true, and with a little work i could use this metaphor to describe my sexuality. Unfortunately it might sound like I’m describing certain queer sexualities that are expressed in very problematic ways, and I’m not, so possibly I don’t want to go into that in public.

  7. I don’t know who would make a barbed dildo, but we should not be their friend. They sound dangerous.

Blasphemy day sounds like a good cause.
