a new poem after spending the day with my parents.

A Girl’s Day with Her Parents

Son
a slap in the face
Son
a closed fist
Son
the sledgehammer strikes

*click click click*
isn’t He handsome
*click click click*
such a good picture of Him

Look. See.
Each word a blow
Each picture a slice
Leaving me broken and bleeding

The truth remains hidden.

A girl’s day with her Parents.

  1. Could you try to describe how you felt reading that? Because I don’t know which direction you’re coming from. I always like feedback on my poetry. I’m doing alright now, but it was a rough day.
